9mm Of Thunder

A horrendous roar
Shatters the softly settling silence.
Echoes and rings
Across the skyline,
Pushes the air aside.

Some sick fascination,
As his heart split
And unfolded right
Before my eyes.
Like some sort of flower,
In a parody of spring.

Roses bubbled forth,
Blossoming on his shirt.
A heartstain dripping down.
Shaky legs gave way,
As he curved towards the ground.

Lie in my arms now,
I'll give you an anchor.
A focus.
As the edges of your vision
Blur and liquefy,
Keep your eyes on my stricken face.

I'll be there until it all goes black,
I promise you.

Shadows Dance

Those innocent, waking eyes
Haze over and close.
The dully glistening orbs covered,
And to the world,
Blinded.

The sleeping child
Now dreams,
Her mind free
From the prying whispers.

Silently,
The shadow-creatures slip out
Of their dark, little corners.
Gliding
Through the open window,
And down to the cooling street.

The cloudless moon
Brings sharp contrast
To their silhouette figures,
And they look up,
Starting to play.
Dancing in the bright fountain
Of luminance.
