As The Morning Fades Away

The water pulses
Against the dark shore,
Dampening the nearby grasses
As they dance in the morning wind.
She watches them waltz.

The geese glide
Majestically with the soft breeze,
Brushing the lady
With their shadows,
As she is warmed by the dawning sun.

Dark hair lifts
In the cool rush of air.
Sapphires sparkle,
As they gaze at rolling clouds
In the lilacs of the sky.

She smiles
As a vibrant purple butterfly
Lifts from its flower and flies into the sun.
The lady fades away,
And is forgotten.
