At the heart of the valley,
I stand, breathing in the cool air,
As the gentle breeze caresses my face.
A true secret, this place,
This valley, hidden from all other eyes.
Trees whisper words I cannot hear,
As the river sings.
It rushes past, the lifeblood of this greenery
Cuts deep wounds as it goes,
Digging into the earth.
Look up, would you really know?
Would you even guess that anything
Lay past those heathery hills?
Seemingly towering above, into the sky.
Yet all good things must end,
Slowly pulled back into a memory.
Shift your gaze, but follow mine,
To where the river pours into the sea.
The water throws itself upon the rocks,
The deceitful chaos of its violent suicide,
Crashing against the cliffs,
As they slowly crumble away into nothing.
