Full Moon of Midnight

Darkness illuminated
By a bright little candle,
In the centre
Of a steely blue sky.

Clouds swirl -
Water to plughole,
Sucked away by the tunnelling light.
I wonder what there'll be,
When she sucks the night away.

Trees blink at you,
Staring at your shadow,
Stiff, curling hair flexing
In the wind.
Many limbs tensing.

Everything watches
When you walk
Beneath a full moon sky.
Everything stalks your steps.
