Fragile

One touch.
It would send cracks,
Fine lines making their way across glass.
Or thin ice, melting into a rushing river,
So beautiful.
So fragile.

A tear.
Sparkling like the sun on water,
Falling out of crystal clear eyes.
A sadness like no words can tell.
Drawn into a shaking blindness.

So easy to break,
To shatter into a thousand.
A puzzle to fix once broken,
Yet never quite the same.
Although the cracks still show,
It is stronger than before.
The hardening of a guarded heart,
Waiting to start once more.
